Dr Jonatar Boton Reyes, known to his patients as “Jon,” is a compassionate and experienced General Practitioner with a special interest in Women’s Health. He is committed to providing holistic, evidence-based, and patient-centred care that empowers individuals to optimise their physical and mental wellbeing. Known for his friendly and understanding nature, Jon believes in working collaboratively with his patients to achieve the best possible health outcomes providing support through the GP Shared Care (GPSC) model.

Jon completed his medical degree at the Military University in Colombia in 2003. Before relocating to Australia, he gained extensive experience working in High Dependency Units, Emergency Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In Australia, he has worked across various hospital departments, including Paediatrics, Psychiatry, and General Medicine, before moving into General Practice. Jon is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has practiced in Northern NSW, the Gold Coast, and Brisbane.

In 2017, Jon obtained a Diploma in Women’s Health through RANZCOG and brings advanced knowledge and experience in Women’s Health to his practice, including through his extended training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He has a special interest in maternity care, working closely with patients through their pregnancy journey.

He is accredited in the insertion and removal of intrauterine devices (Mirena, Kyleena) and Implanon. Jon also provides medical termination of early pregnancy, offering confidential and supportive care for patients seeking this service.

His clinical interests include Women’s and Men’s Health, Maternity and Pregnancy, Family Medicine, Mental Health, Paediatrics, and Chronic Disease Management.
