Registered Nurse

Biography

Can you share a little about your nursing background and the path that brought you here?
I completed a four year nursing program in China. Eager to expand my knowledge and experience a different healthcare system, I moved here to pursue further studies. I first completed my Bachelor of Nursing, which helped me bridge any gaps and solidify my qualifications in Australia. While working as a nurse, I developed a strong interest in the systems and processes that shape patient care on a larger scale.  This passion led me to pursue a Master’s in Health Administration. My career path has been fundamentally shaped by a commitment to patient-centred care. Ultimately, every step of my path has reinforced my commitment to ensuring that the patient’s voice and experience remain at the centre of all I do.

What part of General Practice Nursing lights you up the most, and why?
First of all, In General Practice, I get a chance to build long-term, trusting relationships with patients and their families. It’s the shift from treating an episodic illness to partnering in a patient’s lifelong health journey. Secondly, it allows me to focus on preventative care and health education. I love that the role requires me to use my full scope of clinical judgement. It is a role that respects the nurse as a highly capable and independent professional.

What’s a moment in your day that never fails to make you smile (big or small)?
The ‘Welcoming Moment’. It is the very first moment of a patient interaction. That initial “hello” when they walk into the room. It is my opportunity to set the tone, to offer a warm and safe space in what might be a stressful day for them.

What do you love most about working at One Health Clinics?
Without a doubt, what I love most is the spirit between the clinical team and management. I have a truly fantastic team where nurses, admin staff and GPs work as a unified front, and a management team that actively support me.

What’s something fun about you outside the clinic — any hobbies, quirks, or hidden talents?
Outside the clinic, I try to balance me time and family time. For me time, I love getting lost in a detective book. For family time, nothing beats a family hike or a park run.For pure or creative fun, I am in the kitchen baking.
