Practice Nurse

Biography

Can you share a little about your nursing background and the path that brought you here?

I completed my Diploma of Nursing in 2022, and have spent time in medical, surgical, procedural and forensic mental health. I started practice nursing in 2024, and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Nursing with the intent to remain in general practice and expand my scope to be able to provide thorough and comprehensive care to the community.

What part of General Practice Nursing lights you up the most, and why?

There are many aspects I enjoy, but my favourite moments are typically with patients that I follow along their health journey, whether that’s families bringing bub’s in for 18-month immunisations that I first met at a week old, or follow up sessions with patients managing complex health conditions like diabetes. That ongoing role in someone’s health is very rewarding, particularly when patients feel empowered and supported.

What’s a moment in your day that never fails to make you smile (big or small)?

We’re a close knit and supportive team and you spend a lot of time together, so the little “good mornings” when each team member arrives typically brings a little joy and sets the tone for a good day.

What do you love most about working at One Health Clinics?

It’s a toss up between work life balance and culture. It’s important to me to work for a company where staff are supported, valued and respected, and I also appreciate my three-day weekends which make study and personal time possible.

What’s something fun about you outside the clinic — any hobbies, quirks, or hidden talents?

I doubt that most would consider this fun, but hobbies for me include sleeping, eating, and reading. Although, I do also love exploring new places, spending time at the beach (despite being afraid of waves), and attempting to build creative or artsy skills (of which I have none).
